On Friday, we head to Cardiff to continue our ‘Ten Years Of Med School’ celebrations, so we asked resident producer, Lung, to put together a playlist of music that’s influenced him along the way – and to keep up the ‘Ten Years’ theme, we have gave him the mammoth task of picking just ten tracks that he’s been enjoying during the past ten years…

Amusement Parks on Fire ‘Out of the Angeles’

Love this band. Sadly no longer together. Proper shoegazey alt-rock from Nottingham with massive atmosphere.

Clark ‘Tooth Moves’

Off the LP ‘Iradelphic’ – a truly brilliant mash of acoustic instrumentation and electronics – he makes it sound all so easy!

Dan HabarNam ‘Light’

First heard this on DJ Flight’s Rinse FM show a good few years back and it just grabbed me. Was a real breath of fresh air within the realms of 170 and I loved how organic it sounded.

Midlake ‘Antiphon’

Many happy memories associated with this song and the album on which it features. Amazingly talented band, too.

Röyksopp ‘Forsaken Cowboy’

I just love so much of what Royksopp produce. From the album ’Senior’, perhaps their darkest venture to date – but this is the standout track for me.

Shigeto ‘Look At All The Smiling Faces’

I remember driving around Holland with my friends on a warm and sunny day playing this in their car – I can picture the buildings and the water vividly. Perhaps my second or third time visiting – this track was perfect for the journey!

Turtle ‘Colours’

A musician/producer from Scotland who I’ve been listening to over the last year or so. The way this track builds is hypnotic. Amazing atmosphere from (what I assume) very few instruments used. Less is more in a big way!

Trentemøller ‘Sycamore Feeling’

Trentemoller’s production is a real pleasure to the ears, and he has a great knack for song-writing. I love the atmosphere and mood he (and featured artists!) create throughout his work. This track being a particular favourite of mine. Hauntingly beautiful!

Jamie Woon ‘Gravity’

This track constantly feels like it’s building to a climatic peak (without ever truly reaching one – the swine!) and yet, is so sparse and delicate in it’s construction. I listened to ‘Mirrorwriting’ on repeat for days after it’s release. A total wash of emotion to finish off a great album.

Atlas Sound ‘Quick Canal’

More shoegazey goodness. It builds and builds in to this huge wall of sound. Hypnotic and beautiful!
